I'm just thinking and thinking...... What is the most important thing when knitting a sock for a stranger? I've been going over it and over it in my mind and at first thought that I would knit for my socka-pal-2-zer pal a pair of Teresa's Striped Specials. I mean, I sort of thought it would be the perfect thing, getting a sock that you so know that Teresa spent
most of her sanity careful time and planning to create. But, my sock pal recipient is a pretty talented sock knitter herself, and her stripes match, so maybe she wouldn't think it all that special.
What about fiber. Is it all about the yarn I choose? Who couldn't love any socks knit in Koigu? I would be thrilled with Priscilla's Dream Socks, I knit them myself fairly often. They fit, wouldn't drive me to drink, and the yarn can really make them.
Then I remember all of the wonderful sock patterns out there, either in the mags or on the web or in great books. By great designers that have really put a lot of technique and fun stuff into their creations. I love knitting fun and challenging things. But what color? My sock pal didn't specify a favorite color. Should I knit blue, so she
will be forced can't help but thinking of me (fondly) every time she wears them? I knew this was a bad idea for me. I am so overthinking it! Send me your ideas, I really need the help. (I heard that! NOT in more ways than one! Not too many, anyway!)
