I do. I just need a rainy day. To catch up on food shopping, laundry, email (if you have emailed or commented and are expecting a response, I promise I'm trying. Check your email on the next rainy day-in New England), laundry, housecleaning, knitting, sewing, needlepoint, regular mailing, meal planning, project planning........ You name it and I have neglected it for walking, sunning, swimming, beaching, knitting with friends, outdoor play viewing, plain old just being lazy. This summer is a new chapter as my girls are all working and I have days that I am hanging all by myself. I know that this is what I have raised them for, but I miss having my companions to hop up and hit Portsmouth to window shop and lunch with. Anyway, one rainy day would be nice. Only one. Not on the weekend. Or a day that I already have plans. Or a day that any of you have plans. Do I sound as spoiled as I am?
My Secret Pal 5 really gets the blue thing. I heart her! I can't stop fondling this yarn it is so soft. Thanks SP!
Charlotte's Web update: She sits. Not for any reason, I haven't even lost interest in her, but she sits. I am in the middle of the crochet border (who knew I remembered how to crochet? A pleasant surprise for me), and should have her finished this weekend. Well, if I recover from whatever malady that has moved into my body. I'm thinking it is food poisoning (I thought that deli roast beef looked a little rangy last night, but I was hungry and since I only just purchased it at the beginning of the week.......... It really didn't taste so good either) I am nauseous, weak, and dizzy. The better to see you with, my dear.
In my never ending quest to publicly humiliate my children I give you this (in thumbnails):
"I think I'll stay home today and catch up on my summer reading (McTeague) and practising." When she left to babysit last evening she left the above to remember her by (I have told you she is the sweetest thing, always leaving me little things so I don't forget her). On the right is where I assume she was reading. And eating. On the left, well it is obvious, but couldn't she safely store that expensive instrument that I have to travel an hour in one direction to have repaired when she drops it? In the center? Well food is involved, and see that remote control on the sofa? I'm thinking movies as well. I'm not naming names, but she plays the oboe, and is the only one in high school. Probably not the only one in the dog house though. That is one crowded place.
I'm going to have a lie down. Any tips on getting rid of this nausea and salvaging the rest of this beautiful (AGAIN) day will be well received. And I will be returning emails. After the nap, maybe?
