A Saturday in October

Edited to add: Help! I need some advice. This is the knitting goddess smiting my attempt to have a new sweater for Rhinebeck. I have been flying along, patting myself on the back. Figures! I have already emailed Claudia and await her reply, but any help will be appreciated. I'm in a situation that I haven't found myself in before. I have knit the back and two fronts of a sweater, soaked them and pinned them out for blocking. That was when I saw my mistake. (There is no doubt that I will be fixing it, so don't go there.) My dilemma: How will the knitted, soaked and bloomed, then ripped and reknitted yarn compare to the already knitted sections and the not reknitted part of the piece? The mistake is a about even with the armhole decreases, so I hope to only rip back to there when the pieces are dry. Should I just reknit and reblock with the original yarn? Should I use new yarn and reknit and reblock? I could really use some advice, so if you have your own personal guru/expert, please ask and pass the advice along to me. The yarn is Rowan Magpie, 100% wool, aran weight. Thanks!

I wish I knew the answer to that for you but I don't. I'm sure Claudia will though. Is that the Japanese pattern you made a zillion swatches for?

I would reknit and reblock with the original yarn. You might still have sizing changes but it seems to me you might have greater sizing issues using new yarn. But honestly, I don't think about stuff like that that often so I'm probably not the one to ask.

You're knitting THAT sweater for Rhinebeck? Only you, grrlfriend. My inclination is to use the same yarn as you already have...can't you just ladder back?

If you must~~~ knit and reblock with the same yarn. That's my 2 cents. Lookin' Good!
