I'm off to NYC for the weekend, details on the socks (multiple finished pairs of socks coming!) next week! For those who care-I won't be done the book for a while, don't spoil it for me! Make sure to get some sun and excercise in between chapters!
That is a Market Squares Bag, knitted and felted by Fluffyknitter Deb and lined by moi. I can be bribed to line bags. Try me.
So, while I pretty much never do memes anymore, I haven't much to post, or much I want to put into words at the moment, so I thought some random stuff would make a post. This is thanks to Vicki (it was really Four for the Fourth, but I've adapted it for obvious reasons):
Five for the Fifth:
Five films I can watch again and again:
Pride and Prejudice (BBC version)
What Ever Happened to Baby Jane (or anything with Bette Davis)
Benny and Joon (or anything with Johnny Depp)
Wizard of Oz (oops, that's six isn't it?)
Five jobs I have had in my life:
McDonald's crew member
Yarn store pusher
Clothing factory packer
IRS data entry
That is just through high school and college.
Five Places I have Lived:
Pleasantville, New Jersey
and that takes me through age 15.
Five TV series I watch:
Dancing with the Stars
48 Hours Mystery (I know-but I'm a sucker for true crime)
Five places I have been on holiday:
Prince Edward Island, Canada
The Bahamas-Atlantis Resort
Falmouth, Cape Cod
Five things I do every time I go on the NET:
catch up on blog reading (well, I try to do that)
maybe browse ebay
ummmm.......check my email again?
Five things I would not eat for anything in the world:
anything that anyone has had to eat on the Amazing Race.
I can't really think of anything, because while there are some thing that I'd prefer not to eat (scallops, for instance), if I was starving or something......
Five places I would love to be right now:
My dream beach front property
At the post office mailing off my Sockapalooza pals' socks. (yeah-the future!)
Getting a massage
Hiking in the White Mountains
Back to a day when my dad and grandmothers are still alive, my Uncle Joe is pre-stroke, it is sunny and we are all happy
Wow, that's kind of boring, but there it is. The Sockapalooza socks are a day behind the schedule I wanted to keep, actually two. I finished the first and started the second today. Not bad for nine days, knitting one of them is really like knitting 2+. Speaking of which, I'm burning valuable knitting time, I'll be asleep soon.
Well, for today only one sock, but a SOCK! is what it is. And the thing is, it is the day before the Fourth of July, and we are having a cookout here tomorrow, and as you must know I have nothing else on earth to do right now, SO! I have fiber dyeing in a jar on the stove, am knitting on the SOCK! and posting to my blog for the first time in, well, a long time. A clean house and food are totally overrated in my opinion anyway. (Actually, they aren't. Pretty soon I'll lose my mind to get this place perfect and have way too much food in.)
German Stocking by Cookie A. A brilliant piece of work! This sock comes under several headings in my life, like "What the H-E-double hockey sticks were you thinking?" heading. First, because I joined a swap again. I don't know why I do this to myself, I get too stressed out and always overdo it (note to sockapalooza pal knitting for me-no worries! I am an overdoer, but am not expecting cabled knee socks from anyone), so these socks will go to my Sockapalooza 4 pal. The other thing about these swaps is I always get someone with larger feet than mine. Okay, that isn't a stretch, I have delicate, little feet and the person knitting for me must have whooped it up when she (or he) read my foot size. Takes about a minute and a half to knit a sock for me, I know this. So on top of knitting a larger foot, I'm knitting a honking sock. Because I always overdo! I hate that about me. Just say that you like cabled knee socks, but it is too much to ask and I'm asking for calf measurements. And now I'm deadline knitting and going crazy. Except for today when I decided to dye some fiber too. Because I have nothing else to do, what with company coming.
I also joined two knit-alongs (I really need to listen to that voice in my head that is telling me to stop as I enter my email address everywhere), one is the Summer of Socks and the other is the Mystery Stole 3. Suddenly all of my planned summer knitting is canned for the next project flitting by.
Oh well, that is my little update for the day. Must go clean a toilet and move some laundry. Then shop. Then make it to the gym. And knit that SOCK!
Happy Fourth of July to all of the Americans and happy regular fourth of July to the rest of you all. I mean, celebrate something!
