Alpacas Being Intentionally Uncooperative

I always love the blog photos of animals after fiber shows.  It has been my habit to forget about the animals until after I leave and then regret having no photos.  So this trip I decided that the alpacas, being so photogenic, would be wonderful subjects for practicing with the settings on my camera.  The alpacas though, they weren't as into it as I was.

Alpacas01
They turn their heads.
Alpacas02
They decide they're hungry.
Alpacas04
They go for a run.

Then, when I get all stealth and try to sneek up on them from on direction:

Backsides1
They all turn en masse. And they just cannot be tricked from the other side either.
Backsides2
See?

After much persistance on my part, this baby decided she (or he, who knows?) was ready for her close up.

Alpacas03
"Make sure to get my best side."

I was clearly not having the same luck that Grumperina was having with the alpaca population. Whatever, I turned my attention to some other stuff. Like yarn.

Foxfire
From Barb Parry as I shoot: "It sure is hard getting those skeins of yarn to sit still for a picture, isn't it?" Wise guy.

And spindles:

Spindles

I still haven't photographed the little bit that I brought home, but I do need stuff for the rest of the week.

Two hundred thirty-four to go. Getting the yarn to sit still was easier than the spindles. They must have taken their cue from the alpacas.

I, too, always regret forgetting to get the animal photos.

I have the same problems with alpacas. They never line up for me, either.

I was so tempted by that blue FoxSox.

Those animals are a pain in the ass when it comes to photographing them.

Nice pics of alpaca buns! I know a little bit about trying to photograph fiber on the hoof. Skeins are always more cooperative.
Really nice to see you last weekend.

I got some good sheep photos this year, when they were doing the sheep dog trials. I just wish they hadn't used such mangy looking sheep.

Love the colorful spindles. Nice buns.

Hahaha....I LOVE the alpaca buns shot all lined up in a row. Fiber sisters of a different kind...LOL!

Alpaca buns! Love it. Got some deep blue yarn too from Barb. Can't wait to see the other spindle photos!

Good shots but I want to see the winning team!

You did better than I ever do with alpacas! Love Barb's stuff....I "discovered" her, you know!

i had some good photo opportunities with the animals but i never had the proper lens on my camera so most of my photos are not blog worthy.

I love seeing what everyone buys, except for when they bought something cool that I didn't see or have enough money for.

I adore Barb's blog. I'm sorry that I missed her (and the whole fest, really).

Congrats on the big win. Beautiful shawl and a great theme.

For what it's worth, I can't even get the sheep to look at the camera, let alone alpacas. ;-)
