Whew, the holidays are busy times, aren't they? Especially when a procrastinator like me is thrown into them. Lot's to do and not enough time left to do it in. This will be brief, but read closely, there is a freebie and a give away thrown in here. If I get to them.
- "Mom, BF wants to know when you will like him enough to knit him a hat."
- Done.
- If the jinx is to be believed, he'll break up with us any minute now.
- Just joking.
- Sort of.
- I have always loved the 1951 movie version of Scrooge.
- Not A Christmas Carol, which is important to note.
- I know I must have read A Christmas Carol at some point, but I don't remember it.
- Over the last two weeks I have listened to it three times.
- Three different narrators. Tim Curry, Jim Dale, and Simon Vance.
- I loved Jim Dale, but that could be only because I love him as the narrator of the Harry Potter books.
- Simon Vance has done an excellent job as well.
- Do you want to listen to it?
- You can download it right here for free.
- It's a three hour listen, you can listen while you are wrapping or baking or decorating or driving to wherever you are going to spend Christmas or knitting because everything else is done.
- If it is that last one, I hate you just a little.
- Only a little, the rest of me loves you.
- Anyway, I watched Scrooge last night
- (Oh, and yes it is now Friday, this is a Friday post)
- and after listening to the book so much that movie wasn't as satisfying as it has been in the past.
- No wonder they had to change the name.
- Either the producers and writers of that movie thought Dickens wasn't clear enough, left too much of Scrooge's story to the imagination or
- they felt they needed to fill in for the stupid movie watching public.
- I still think that Alastair Sim made a great Scrooge.
- Under the heading: What You Do For One BF........
- So, if anyone is reading this blog during this busy week ahead, you have a chance to win a little present from me.
- I was given an opportunity to give a free three month subscription to Audible.com to the person of my choice!
- Audible.com is a digital audio bookstore that I have a membership to and use often.
- Just shop, download, and listen. It is that easy.
- For three months the winner will receive one credit per month which can be used to purchase an audiobook (most books are one credit, some two), discounts on any other audiobooks they may wish to purchase and will be able to take advantage of any sales that happen during that three months.
- The sales are usually pretty great, sometimes a selection of books will be offered for $4.95, or half off and there are usually other offers.
- Unless you make an additional purchase you WILL NOT have to enter a credit card and this is not an automatic billing membership.
- Just a free three months.
- You can stock up!
- Leave a comment to this post by midnight on New Year's Eve and I will choose a winner.
- I bet you'll get hooked.
- Now, I have a TON LEFT TO DO!!!!!
- Meanwhile, this one is so fun it never gets old:
EDITED: The link to the free download has been fixed! But if you went through to the Two Bean and Rice Salad, it is a really easy and yummy recipe! BONUS!
2011. Sixty-seven. $2.14. NOT ENOUGH TIME LEFT! Have a great day!

You can hate me just a little as I have NOTHING left to do. However, I don't do all that much anyway. Christmas will come and you'll have fun whether you're ready or not.
I also have an audible gift if someone reads your post and wants it.
Happy Christmas, dear friend!!

Cute hats!
Feel free to hate me. I'm busy trying to figure out what to knit next. Or should I spin next? Or both? Hmmmmm...
Happy Happy!

Last week Robyn got The Muppets' Christmas Carol on demand and I watched parts of it while I was coming and going. The parts I saw actually stuck pretty closely to the book (well, not the singing and dancing rats ...).
I love Straight No Chaser. John thought they were going to be performing sometime this holiday season and we were going to see if you & Pete wanted to go with us ... but I forgot to look and I supposed we missed them. Next year!

Dale read A Christmas Carol for the first time last week and he really enjoyed it. My favorite movie version is the one with George C. Scott. Audible is great and since I already have an account there is no need to enter me into your contest. Merry Christmas!!!

If the audible offer is still open, please include me. Last night I finished listening to Rose of Sabastopol. It was a library download. Very enjoyable.
Any suggestions?

You always crack me up! Procrastination is one of my time management techniques - it's amazing how many things just go away.....

Oh, I love listening to books while doing other things. Most of my "reading" is done this way.
