Tell us what you think of Mountain Mohair. I'm wearing my Mountain Mohair sweater right now - it's 8 years old and I LOVE It. Tiny bit of cabling on mine, and the halo does hide it a bit. My guess is that it's more like 4 st/in, too. But it is "boooootiful" as my 3 yo would say.

Hey fellow swatcher! IMHO, the Magpie would be a helluva lot of work to knit down to 4.5/st in for this loose knitter gal. I am *so* not knitting this whole g d sweater on size 3s.

After hearing everyone's experiences, I come to the conclusion that each Roguer has to decide whether they want a stiff-stiff sweater that undoubtedly shows the cabling off to advantage, or a comfy drapey sweater. I'm on the side of comfy. Therefore, I think the Magpie Tweed is usable, but only at MY gauge and by re-writing the pattern.

Bother. I had so wanted to be lazy-girl for this one.

Try Cascade 220. I really liked that yarn at the 18/24 gauge.
