The party was strange, but strangely a success. People came and went and ate and swam and played bocce and drank and socialized and then it was over. Not everything met my standards and some of those things were noticed (I really should hire somone to keep things going, I get so overwhelmed), but overall it was good. Gillian was very pleased and now she is gone. I'm still trying to figure out exactly how I feel about this, and have been a little weepy today. Remind me of this when she moves home and I'm dying to get rid of her again.
Pete has been spending a lot of time in the backyard lately, planting in the containers he puts around the patio and general yard maitenance, but I was pleased and surprised to see that he hasn't been pruning out back yet either. The azaleas are in bloom and a riot of flowers.

And we had feathered visitors as well. I took this photo, turned to take the pictures of the azaleas and the birdfeeder hosted a party right then, but by the time I turned back my camera battery had died, so I missed the bunch of birds. It is a bummer, because my original plan for posting was yarn that I finished over the weekend, but the pics are crap so I have to retake them. On top of that, I'm just too tired to come up with something else. There you have it.

And in twenty-one day news (we haven't been there for a while) I am really flossing every single day. Have been for longer than 21 days, but now I don't know how long it has been since I have missed a day. I'm thinking on what my next 21 day habit or breaking habit will be. Stay tuned, if you can stand the excitement.
Two hundred twelve to go. I hope not too many of them are as yawn-worthy as this one. heh.
That's a big milestone with Gillian moving to New York. Hugs to you.

Both of you will be fine. It just takes a bit of time.

I'm sure you're weepy. It's got to be a hard thing to go through right now. But I know you'll rise to the occasion.

The color of the azaleas is enough to keep the yawns away. Your little grrl gone to the city...that's a big step for you both. Laurie's got it right, it takes time for an adjustment as big as that.

I am glad Gillian's party was a success, so that she looks forward to her new adventure with a smile.
You both will adjust...it just takes a little time....and a mother never stops worrying, even when they are close to 30.
Beautiful flowers! Can I hire Pete?

Wow! Those azaleas are almost blinding. They are very touchy in my zone, so I celebrate any flowering at all.
((Hugs))

New York is still close enough for visiting :) What's Gillian going to be doing there?

Congratulations to Gillian, and hugs to you. I can empathize with the weepiness - mine is finishing kindergarten this week and I keep getting teary!

I'm glad the party was a success. And it makes sense for you to be a little weepy.

Glad your party was a hit! :o) Maybe I'll luck out and the ex and his family won't show up... ;o)
