Fragmentary Blue
Why make so much of fragmentary blueIn here and there a bird, or butterfly,Or flower, or wearing-stone, or open eye,When heaven presents in sheets the solid hue?Since earth is earth, perhaps, not heaven (as yet)--Though some savants make earth include the sky;And blue so far above us comes so high,It only gives our wish for blue a whet.
~Robert Frost
Twenty-four. Thanks for reminding me Cara! She was passing on the poetry love via Deb.
Perfect marriage of poem and photo!

Oh, isn't that just the perfect poem for us fans of blue? You don't know this, but I considered using FragmentaryBlue for my ravelry id in honor of this poem!
Robert Frost had such a gift for capturing thoughts and feelings. We have a tape of him reading his own poems - priceless!
Thanks for posting both the poem and the perfect photo. I'd like that enlarged, please, to go above my fireplace! ;)
