Another week, another Blue Monday! It's enough to even make you look forward to Monday in a way, isn't it? (And if it isn't, I don't want to hear it, I'm leaning to the positive.)
You can guess what attracted me to these little charmers. I mean, I have nothing against Teddy Bears on the whole, but I wouldn't keep a collection of them (well, I might, but again I mention the hoarder in my soul and the pragmatist in my head. They are always at war).
Aren't they a cute couple? They have lived with me for many years so to keep them special they are forced into reverse hibernation. Out with the winter decorations and put away when the snowmen melt get packed up for the summer. Emerging from their long summer's nap, they warm my cold heart every year. Just look at his blue eyes!
And if they warm my heart, new blue socks certainly work at warming my feet.
- Pattern: Diagonal Rib Sock by Ann Budd, published free online.
- Yarn: Foxfire Fiber & Designs Fox Sox in Loon.
- Needles: size 0.
- Cast On: Hmmmm, I didn't document this one too well, but I'm guessing September, 2009.
- Bound Off: February 4, 2010.
This project is one of the rare ones. Nothing remarkable except that I TURNED ANOTHER HEEL!!!!! That never gets old for me. The pattern is an easy one to memorize and work, the yarn is lovely and the only change I made was to work my usual short row heels and toes.
I haven't had a finished pair of socks in a while, I forgot that I have to turn myself into a pretzel to get a photo of them. Well, what you see is what you get!
These socks also mark another SMACK!down project that is off the needles. I'll be trying to get one more finished before I launch into an Olympic challenge to get some pretty long time projects to completion during the Winter Games. More on that later, potater.
I can't claim kudos for knitting the sweaters on the bears, I wish I could say that I had. I am tempted to get another bear or two and knit for them. Actually, now that I have said that, I do have a couple of smaller bears that have been waiting for me to dress them.....
2010. Twenty-three. I wonder, if I knit two matching sweaters Pete and I could have our photos taken with the bears, all twinsy and matchy. I think he'll go for it, don't you?
I think they're beautiful, Teresa, and I'll bet they're warm too! Happy Blue Monday.

Love the socks. You're doing so well on your smackdown projects. Go grrl! You and Pete would look fabulous with matchy sweaters, holding cuddly bears. Why not?
