I've not been thankful for the last couple of Thursdays. Well, that isn't entirely accurate, I've had things to be thankful for, but I haven't participated in blogging them because it would have taken time away from the ALL KNITTING, ALL THE TIME!* vibe I had going. So today, while no different thanks to a new project with new yarn that is gorgeously and stunningly blue, I'm taking a break from ALL KNITTING, ALL THE TIME!* to share some things that I am thankful for or about.
- The fragrance of my experiment with bulb forcing filling the house. While the bulbs are only kind of making it, they are making my home smell like spring. I prefer spring to funeral home, but you get the idea.
- Four seasons. Or, depending on how you look at it (like my way of looking), three and a half, but still. In New Hampshire we are blessed with lots of beautiful changes.
- Sometimes gratitude helps me deal with the not so good, so today and everyday I remind myself how thankful I am that my husband has a job. A job in which we are both sacrificing a bit for him to keep, but a job and that is what is important, right? RIGHT!
- Tomorrow is the last day of our last high school Spirit Week.
- Electricity. In these parts it has been at a premium this last week.
- The Four Fs: Friends, food, fiber, fun.
- David Sedaris.
- The Olympics and Ravelympics or Knitting Olympics were so fun and productive.
- And now they are so.over. yay!
- Bedtime.
Thankful Thursdays sponsored by Rhondi at Rose Colored Glasses. Join in, it is good for the heart!
Speaking of thankful, Pete is over the top with all of the birthday wishes that were sent his way. He thanked everybody in the comments of that post, but in case you didn't go back to read that you should just know, he thanks all of y'all! And I do to.
*Everybody says that, "all whatever, all the time." It just about kills me to write it out that way. I want to say, "ALL KNITTING, ALL OF THE TIME!" It just doesn't work though.
2010. Thirty-seven. The grand-kitten is walking around with her eyes closed. She thinks if she doesn't see me I won't see her and she can sneak up and steal the BFL waiting to be spun. So tricky. With her obsession with my yarn (and she is a yarn snob! Steals only the good stuff. Leave some Lion's Brand Homespun out and she turns up her nose and pouts.) and fiber I should get a drop spindle into her double paws.
We are finally having true winter today. It's a winter wonderful and I don't think it's snowed like this all year. YAY!
Food, friends, fiber, fun...perfection.
I'm enjoying knitting vicariously through you. I haven't knit in a week (not sure when I will again). It's tough!!
I'm thankful you're my friend. <3

When I read this last week the thought went thru my mind: does the kitten really walk around w/her eyes closed??
