Can you remember it? Seriously. YouTube is only FIVE YEARS OLD! this month. Truthfully. Millions of videos posted and shared. Thousands of careers launched. Thousands of careers shattered. Hundreds of people learning to do a long-tail cast on. Music, comedy, old telvision clips, drama. You can waste spend hours following links and trust me, all YouTube links lead to Michael Jackson if you click long enough. ALL.ON.LINE! The phenomenon of YouTube is crazy!
I can't really come up with any one video to properly celebrate this event, so I'll share a couple, but what I am hoping is that you all will share a favorite YouTube video link in the comments so that we can all celebrate.
I'll start it off with an old television clip. Stick with it to the end, it is hysterical. For those of us old enough, it might bring back memories:
AND SERIOUSLY! This really happened AFTER I typed that intro paragraph. Honest injun! After finding the Tim Conway video I started getting sentimental and wanted to see the SORRY video just to hear "IT WAS A SEVEN!!!!!" so I searched for it:
Anyway, this is the link to the page that video is on and if it is the same, just look at the links on the side and see what is on top! Is it there? This is it. SERIOUSLY!
All links lead to Michael Jackson, really, they do!
And this one is from this past week's Dancing With The Stars. It is such a fun dance and the choreography is so clever that I love watching it. If I got lucky enough to dance with one of those pros I would choose Derek. He is a great teacher and can make up a really good dance.
THANK you SO much for the Dancing clip. SO fun!! Will go look at the Carol Burnett ones now.

All the wonderful shows I grew up with are on You Tube, any song, any musical genre, every knitting trick...what isn't on You Tube!?

I watched that Dancing clip over and over on Tuesday ... they did an amazing job.
My favorite blast-from-the-past video was brought to my attention by Boomama, who apparently gets a kick out of watching old beauty pageant videos. Funnier than the videos, though, is her commentary on what we're watching. You can find it all here: http://boomama.net/2009/12/21/i-have-so-many-thoughts/
Enjoy!

Wow - that Jackson Five clip was great. Such talent and tragedy in that man's life. I look at this and wonder how his life would have been different without such a dysfunctional family. So tragic.

; )
Tim Conway is doing a show in our area next weekend, so he's been on the radio a lot doing promos and whatnot. Love those Carol Burnett clips.

Oh, and I just came back to watch them all again... especially that Paso. That is one of the best dances EVER on DWTS (is it weird that so many of my faves are Pasos?). Thanks for the linky...
