I like your approach to the thankfulness topic!

From one oatmeal lover to another, yes, it can get to be same ol', same ol' day after day. If you're looking for a bit of variety, I recommend quinoa (pronounced keen'-wah). It's a grain that many people with wheat allergies can eat. Quinoa takes a bit longer to cook, but it looks cute and has great texture. Plus, you can use it as the base for a lot of interesting recipes.

Great post with an interesting take on the powers of positive thinking. I love the old-fashioned oatmeal too, but with raisins and walnuts added. Oh and mine has to be cooked in milk not water. Makes it creamier. :-)

Your posts are almost very interesting, with great perceptive and understanding of human nature, including your own. I found a wonderful GF oatmeal and now it's disappeared from store shelves. Many other brands are just a gluey mess. Dang it. I love starting my day with oatmeal.

I'm thankful for your posts Terry. They are very enjoyable to read, you definitely have a knack for writing. Love your outlook on the day to day things in life, I have always tried to look at the positive side of things in my life and w/a positive outlook my predictable days turn into something interesting... at least I hope.
To "inglesidebelle" our family is huge fan of quinoa. I have never heard it described as "cute" but you are right, it is kind of cute. Have you tried red quinoa?

Are you able to have peanut butter? I have become a major fan of all-natural peanut butter in my old-fashioned oatmeal, with nothing else added. LOVE. Sort of savory, very different, and it really stays with me for a morning. (I add a heaping Tablespoon of p.b. with 1/3 c. oats and somewhat-less-than 1 c. water in the bowl and microwave it for 2 mins or so.)
