What to blog about on the next to the last day of NaBloPoMo. Hmmmmmm.....
I've barely an idea, BUT! I have a great and fun idea for anyone in the Boston area on Saturday. Join Boston Pops conductor Keith Lockhart in an attempt to break the world record for most people caroling together in one place. WE CAN DO THIS, PEOPLE!!!!! Spread the word! Bring the kids! Invite your friends! Tell them to invite their other friends!
So, that's one thing to blog about. I'll see you there, right? RIGHT!?
Carole has a Ten on Tuesday list going, and I don't usually Ten on Tuesday because to tell the truth, it is pressure for me to narrow things down to ten or think of ten original things or more than two things........
See? I'm breaking into a sweat already.
This week is Ten Favorite Musicals. My problem here is in the narrowing down, but here we go in no particular order.
- Thoroughly Modern Millie. I saw this on Broadway with Sutton Foster twice. I'd see it a hundred times more, it was so much fun.
- Anything Goes. I've seen this a lot of times, but last spring I saw it with Sutton Foster (yes, I think she is awesome) and it was the best and most fun I think I've ever had in a show that I wasn't in myself.
- Chicago. Bebe Newirth and nobody else.
- Sweeney Todd. Angela Lansbury is my hero, she was fabulous in this. I played the Beggar Woman in college and I loved every second of it.
- Guys and Dolls. I have fond memories of this one from high school. We had a blast!
- Fantastiks.
- Anne of Green Gables. Well, the musical isn't my favorite, but it was the first lead Gillian ever had and it was so fun to watch her bond with the cast and play one of my favorite childhood characters.
- Carousel. I was in this once, too. I love You'll Never Walk Alone.
- Godspell. The music is so dated, but I still love it.
- Next to Normal. This was one of the best shows I have ever seen.
So those were all shows I have seen on stage. The rest of these I have seen either on stage, film or both and rank among my favorites as well. Mary Poppins (my favorite Disney film from my childhood) and The Lion King (favorite Disney film/show-saw both-of my kids' childhoods), Grease, Annie Get Your Gun, oh jeez. Now I'm worrying that I am going to leave one out. That's all you get for today.
Christmas song of the day: I purchased this album and if you are a Zoey Deschanel fan you might like it. I am glad that I paid only $5 for the download. It isn't a bad album at all, but a little 'one horse show', if you know what I mean.
2011. Fifty. $2.93. One more day of daily posting. Gosh I hope I think of something to fill this space tomorrow.
I always leave stuff off my lists and this time it was Camelot and Brigadoon. I can't believe I forgot them. So many good musicals!

I thought you'd be all over the subject in a NY minute! You act as if you have nothing to say or find it hard to find your voice, but grrl, you're on a roll. I'm hoping you keep this up until the end of the year and beyond!

Fantastiks is one of my favorites; I love The Music Man, Les Miserables, My Fair Lady, and will cheerfully sit down to watch ANY other musical! I have mixed feelings about Camelot: altho I love the music, it makes me so sad when Gwenivere falls in love w/Lancelot -- every time I want to yell, "No! Don't do this!"
